On February 10, Huarun Dadong Dockyard (HRDD) delivered the 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dock “HIDRAMAR ULTRA” to Spain’s Hidramar Group, and the two sides jointly signed the delivery documents.

The 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dry dock, named “HIDRAMAR ULTRA 22000”, is 240 meters long, 48 meters wide, and has a pontoon height of 4.7 meters. It is classified by Lloyd’s Register (LR), enabling it to repair and refit various medium-sized vessels.
According to reports, the contract for the construction of a 22,000 Mton lifting capacity floating dry dock between Spain’s Hidramar Group and HRDD was signed and became effective on November 14, 2024; construction of the floating dry dock project began on January 22, 2025; keel laying took place on August 10; the pontoon hull was completed on August 13; the main structure of the dock walls was formed on August 16; the main hull was fully completed on August 20; all structural and compartment watertightness tests were completed on August 29; underwater engineering and external hull painting were completed on September 4; and the naming ceremony was held on November 26.

During the construction of the “HIDRAMAR ULTRA” floating dock, the HRDD project team used technological innovation, advanced processes, and rich construction experience to efficiently advance the construction progress. The entire dock construction took 15 months.
It is understood that HRDD has previously built several large floating docks for shipowners such as Cuba, and the technical indicators and operational quality after they were put into production have been unanimously praised by the shipowners.
The delivery of the “HIDRAMAR ULTRA” is a successful example of maritime cooperation between China and the West. The floating dock officially set sail on the morning of February 14th, heading to the Tenerife Islands of Spain for production.
