On February 9, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), held the naming and delivery ceremony for the 17th 50,000 DWT MR oil/chemical tanker built for CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping Company Limited and Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited. The new vessel was named CS ROTTERDAM, marking the sixth newly built ship delivered by the company this year.

The CS Rotterdam is the second 50,000 DWT MR oil/chemical tanker built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard for CSSC Leasing and Intercontinental Shipping Group. Featuring green environmental performance, large cargo capacity, and excellent operability, its performance and fuel consumption metrics achieve leading industry standards.

Since the vessel’s construction commenced, the shipowner, classification society, and shipbuilding team have worked in close collaboration, innovating work methodologies to achieve multiple key milestones ahead of schedule and shorten the sea trial period. The vessel demonstrated outstanding performance across all sea trial indicators, with its Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) setting a new historical best record for CSSC Chengxi Shipyard built vessels of the same class.
