Recently, France’s GTT signed contracts with South Korea’s three major shipbuilders for the design of liquid cargo tanks for multiple liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. As of the 28th, GTT has publicly announced contracts for the design of liquid cargo tanks for 16 LNG carriers this year.

On January 14, GTT signed a supply contract with Samsung Heavy Industries to provide liquid cargo tank design for two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
It is reported that the new vessels were ordered by LNG carrier operator Seapeak. With a cargo capacity of 174,000 m³, they will be equipped with GTT’s proprietary Mark III Flex membrane containment system. Delivery of the vessels is scheduled for 2028.
On January 21, GTT announced the signing of a supply contract with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) to provide liquid cargo tank design for three new LNG carriers.
The newbuildings were ordered by Greek shipowner Capital Clean Energy Carriers and will be constructed by HD Hyundai Samho. Each vessel will feature a cargo capacity of 174,000 m³ and will be equipped with GTT’s proprietary Mark III Flex membrane containment system. Deliveries are scheduled between the third quarter of 2028 and the first quarter of 2029.
On January 28, GTT announced the signing of an order from the shipyard Hanwha Ocean for the tank design of two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs).
As part of this order, GTT will design the cryogenic tanks of the two LNGCs, each offering a capacity of 174,000 m³. The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 Super+ membrane containment system developed by GTT. Delivery of the vessels is scheduled between the first and second quarters of 2029.
As of January 28, GTT has publicly announced contracts for the design of liquid cargo tanks for 16 LNG carriers this year, with Hanwha Ocean, Samsung Heavy Industries and HD KSOE securing orders for 9, 5, and 2 vessels respectively.
