Recently, Watts Energy & Engineering (WE) successfully launched the world’s largest series of marine stacked LNG stainless steel tanks. The cutting commencement ceremonies for the series of LNG stainless steel fuel tanks, constructed by WE for Jiangsu WING Heavy Industry and China Merchants Heavy Industry, have been completed.

As the world’s largest marine stacked LNG stainless steel fuel tanks, the three liquid tanks now under construction will all serve the same shipowner, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), and will be installed on 22,000 TEU container ships.
This series of liquid tanks employs an advanced semi-refrigerated, semi-pressurized design and utilizes high-performance NV-304L stainless steel material. It offers outstanding low-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, enabling stable operation in extreme cold environments and perfectly meeting LNG fuel storage requirements. The unique independent dual-chamber tank structure further enhances storage safety and space utilization, precisely matching the installation and operational scenarios of large vessels.
The commencement of cutting operations marks a pivotal step forward for WE in the R&D and manufacturing of large-scale marine LNG storage equipment. As subsequent batches of products continue to advance, they will provide efficient and reliable clean energy storage and transportation solutions for the global shipping industry’s green transition, helping the sector achieve energy conservation and emission reduction goals. This development also lays a solid foundation for WE to deepen its presence in the high-end equipment market and expand its international cooperation opportunities.
