China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base Launches Zhongquan Group’s First 2,450 CEU PCTC

On December 26, the first 2,450 CEU PCTC invested by Zhongquan Group was successfully launched at China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base (Nantong, Jiangsu). Zhongquan Group, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base, and DNV jointly signed and confirmed the launch certificate, marking a key milestone in the project since construction commenced in March 2025.

Built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) and classed by DNV, the vessel is 139.9 meters long and features eight vehicle decks (including two lift-up decks), providing 2,450 standard parking spaces and a total carrying area of ​​20,300 square meters. The vessel can execute 180-degree turns within 150-meter-wide waterways, delivering exceptional maneuverability and berthing adaptability.

In terms of power and environmental protection, the vessel supports multiple fuels such as VLSFO, MDO, and MGO, and is equipped with EGR and SCR systems. It meets the highest emission standards for nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, and satisfies the latest international standards including IMO EEDI Phase 3, the EU Convention on the Recycling of Ships, and the enhanced fire safety classification symbol F(C). It boasts excellent safety, environmental friendliness, and maneuverability, balancing operational efficiency with environmental requirements, making it a modern, advanced, intelligent PCTC. The vessel is expected to be delivered in April 2026 and will be deployed for feeder services in the Caribbean region.

Zhongquan Group stated that it will seize this opportunity to continuously enhance its capabilities in crew provisioning and full-cycle management for vessels such as high-end ro-ro vessels, contributing professional expertise to the high-quality development of the shipping industry.
