On December 23, Ningbo Penghong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry and Kanghong (Yangpu) Shipping signed a contract for the construction of 1+1 1,900 TEU container ships. This collaboration marks Penghong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry’s formal entry into the mainstream container shipbuilding market less than a year since its establishment.
According to official information, Ningbo Penghong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry (formerly Ningbo Beilun Bluesky Shipbuilding) was established in February 2025 with a registered capital of US$50 million. It is a shipbuilding enterprise specializing in constructing mainstream vessel types and small-to-medium-sized specialized workboats.
In July 2025, Ningbo Penghong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry held the steel cutting ceremony for a 25,900 DWT oil and chemical tanker. Notably, this marked the shipyard’s first publicly announced project since its establishment.
