On November 15, China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Beihai Shipbuilding formally delivered the 150,000-metric-ton (MT) smart aquaculture vessel “Guoxin No. 1 2-2” — invested by Qingdao Conson Development (Group). The vessel was named “Lu Ji Yu Yang 60618”.

From the maiden voyage and breakthrough of China’s first global smart aquaculture vessel “Guoxin No. 1”, to the iterative innovation of its 2.0 version “Guoxin No. 1 2-1”, and now the delivery and commissioning of “Guoxin No. 1 2-2”, the “three-vessel synergy” marks that China’s deep-sea aquaculture vessels have entered a new stage of intelligent, standardized and industrialized operation.

Guoxin No. 1 2-2 measures 244.9 meters in length with a displacement of 150,000 tons. It features nearly 100,000 cubic meters of aquaculture water volume, including 15 standard aquaculture tanks alongside multiple circular raceway ponds and experimental aquaculture tanks.
The vessel has achieved in-depth upgrades to four core systems—feeding, processing, deep-water intake, and adult fish harvesting—and will conduct the first-ever year-round continuous aquaculture trial of salmonids on an industrial vessel. It establishes a new integrated development model linking land and sea across the entire industrial chain, encompassing “fingerling breeding, aquaculture production, intensive processing, and brand marketing.”
Leveraging its capabilities in adult fish cultivation and large-size fingerling supply, the vessel is expected to address the shortcomings in China’s salmon and trout industry and drive its transformation and upgrading.
