On November 11, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC), a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC), simultaneously kicked off construction of an 115,000 DWT ice-class strengthened product tanker (Hull No.: P110K-63) for Greece’s Dynacom and the first 115,000 DWT crude oil tanker (Hull No.: T110K-9) for Arcadia at its manufacturing facility.
This collaboration with Arcadia marks a dual milestone: it represents both the shipowner’s first entry into China’s shipbuilding market and its inaugural partnership with SHGSIC, underscoring international clients’ recognition of China’s advanced shipbuilding capabilities.
Among them, the P110K-63 product tanker, as an ice-strengthened vessel, has achieved many breakthroughs in structural design and coating protection technology. It is also the first ice-strengthened product tanker undertaken by SHGSIC.
Currently, SHGSIC is meticulously organizing production around key technical challenges, strictly controlling quality, and striving to create high-performance, safe, and reliable vessels to ensure on-time delivery.
