On October 30th, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) held a handover and acceptance meeting for the No. 8 quay project. Following on-site inspection, document review, and technical inquiries by the attending representatives, the meeting unanimously agreed that the project met the design drawings and relevant specifications, and that the project quality was up to standard, successfully passing the handover and acceptance process. This marks the official operational readiness of Pier No. 8.

The COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) No.8 and No.9 Quay Project commenced construction on September 30, 2024. The primary construction scope includes building a new 300,000-ton outfitting quay (Quay No. 8) and a 150,000-ton outfitting quay (Quay No. 9). Quay No. 8 features a total berthing length of 476 meters, while Quay No. 9 has a total berthing length of 357.6 meters. The project also involves constructing three approach bridges, outfitting facilities, and other related infrastructure.
Notably, No. 9 Pier successfully passed its completion inspection on August 11 this year and commenced operations on August 30. The successful inspection of No. 8 Pier now signals that the overall delivery of this pier construction project is imminent.
The construction project of No. 8 quay and 9 represents one of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s key infrastructure initiatives, grounded in present needs while looking toward the future. It also serves as a vital pillar for driving the company’s transformation and upgrading toward new energy, high-tech, high-performance, and high-value-added businesses.
