Jinglu Shipyard Delivers MR Chemical Tanker “VENUS 9” 311 Days Ahead of Schedule

On September 23, Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (Jinglu Shipyard) held a delivery and naming ceremony for the MR chemical tanker “VENUS 9,” built for Tianjin Fanjia Taihe Leasing. The vessel was delivered 311 days ahead of schedule.

The VENUS 9 is a next-generation MR chemical tanker built by Jinglu Shipbuilding. It is 183.1 meters long, 32.2 meters wide and has a designed draft of 11 meters. With 20 cargo holds, it can simultaneously transport 20 different cargoes (including highly corrosive substances such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid), making it a high-end international vessel.

The vessel is equipped with environmental protection systems including SCR, desulfurization towers, and shaft generators to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and carbon dioxide. It features a pre-rotating guide wheel and a high-efficiency twisted rudder (with rudder ball) to lower fuel consumption and enhance maneuverability.

Additionally, the vessel has been granted methanol dual-fuel readiness classification notations [Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D(TA,BK,FS,ME,AB), 3(S)], providing ample scope for future green fuel utilization and supporting the industry’s “green and low-carbon” development.
