On September 10, Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, delivered the ninth LNG dual-fuel 16,000 TEU container vessel “MSC LINZIE” built for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). The vessel cast off from the shipyard’s dock and commenced operations. The eighth vessel in this series, “MSC SAVANNAH,” was delivered on July 12.
The “MSC LINZIE” has an overall length of approximately 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters, a depth of 30.2 meters, and a structural draft of 17 meters. The vessel is equipped with energy-saving devices including shaft generators, air lubrication, a rudder ball, and twisted blades. Its dual-fuel main engine employs ECOEGR optimization, enabling compliance with Tier III emission standards while further reducing fuel consumption.
At the same time, “MSC LINZIE”, like the eighth vessel delivered previously, is equipped with a wind deflector device, which can effectively reduce wind resistance during navigation, thereby reducing carbon emissions by reducing fuel consumption, and helping to further achieve green and efficient operation of the vessel.
Construction of the vessel commenced in late July 2024. It entered the dry dock for outfitting by the end of December that year, launched in late May 2025, and successfully completed sea trials by mid-August, with all test results meeting design specifications.
