On August 7, HD Hyundai Samho announced that the company had completed emergency repairs to the substation damaged by the fire and had begun supplying power to the company’s entire plant.
According to previous news, a fire broke out at HD Hyundai Samho Central Substation at around 11:21 pm on July 28. The fire was brought under control after 12 hours of firefighting efforts.
The fire damaged power lines and other electrical system equipment, temporarily disrupting the shipyard’s entire power supply. Following the fire, HD Hyundai Samho quickly collaborated with local authorities, government departments, and relevant agencies to install electrical equipment in advance.
Fortunately, the shipyard employees were on collective vacation from July 28 to August 8 when the incident occurred, so there were no casualties. The shipyard employees will resume normal work on August 11.
With the restoration of the power grid on the 7th, the entire plant has achieved a stable power supply. During the summer break, HD Hyundai Samho employees, including foreign workers and other personnel from partner companies, actively participated in the restoration work at the disaster site.
HD Hyundai Samho executives stated, “We will strive to strengthen safety management and prevent similar accidents from happening again in the future.”
