On August 12, CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), officially delivered the second 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier in its series for Singapore-based East Pacific Shipping (EPS), with the vessel entering service on the same day.
The first vessel in the series was delivered in July 2026, nearly four months ahead of the contract delivery date; the second vessel in the series, delivered this time, was also delivered nearly four months ahead of the contract schedule; the third vessel in the series has completed its sea trials and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.
The 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier from the EPS series delivered on this occasion is a new generation of “green and environmentally friendly” vessel independently developed and designed by Beihai Shipbuilding. The vessel has an overall length of 299.99 meters and a beam of 50 meters. Equipped with an LNG dual-fuel main engine and Type C LNG tanks, it reduces carbon emissions by approximately 20% when operating in gas mode and achieves near-zero sulfur oxide emissions, meeting the requirements of Phase 3 of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI).
This vessel is equipped with an automatic steering system featuring Track Control System (TCS) functionality, which integrates route planning and automatic tracking to effectively shorten voyage distances and reduce energy consumption. It is also equipped with an open-loop desulfurization tower, enabling the use of high-sulfur fuel oil and providing shipowners with flexible options for fuels with varying sulfur content.
This vessel’s CII operational energy efficiency meets the 2040 emissions requirements, and its fuel system can be flexibly switched according to operational needs. It is characterized by outstanding overall energy efficiency, advanced eco-friendly features, and operational flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
Currently, Beihai Shipbuilding’s order backlog covers the full range of green propulsion systems, including LNG dual-fuel, ammonia dual-fuel, methanol dual-fuel, and ethanol/methanol triple-fuel. Green vessels account for more than 80% of the order backlog, and vessels powered by new energy sources encompass a variety of fuel options, including LNG, methanol, ethanol, and ammonia.
