On August 5, Jiangsu Runyang Shipbuilding successfully launched the 10,000-ton-class rocket recovery vessel “Xing Ji Hui Hang”, built for China’s aerospace company iSpace i-Space.
This vessel, the first newly built rocket recovery vessel in China and the second in the world, fills a gap in this type of vessel in the domestic high-tech shipbuilding and offshore equipment industry. Its rocket recovery area covers 2,400 square meters.
The vessel is 100 meters long, 42 meters wide, 6.5 meters deep and has a designed displacement of approximately 18,000 tons. The vessel is a core piece of equipment for rocket recovery and reuse, offering advantages such as being green, environmentally friendly, and intelligent, which is expected to be delivered in October.
Jiangsu Runyang Shipbuilding is a leading shipbuilding enterprise in Jiangdu District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It has a shipbuilding history of nearly 60 years. As the company gradually grows and develops, it has transitioned from the “canal era” to the “ocean era.”
Currently, the company builds various types of large deck carriers under 100,000 tons, including container ships, oil tankers, chemical tankers, rocket launch and recovery vessels, and various offshore engineering vessels. Its products are exported to countries such as Singapore, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Netherlands, and South Korea, and are certified by internationally renowned classification societies such as CCS, Bureau Veritas, ABS and RINA.
From January to July this year, Jiangsu Runyang Shipbuilding has delivered eight vessels, achieving a year-on-year increase of 30% in invoiced sales. The company currently has a backlog of 26 vessels, with delivery dates scheduled until the end of 2027.
