On August 7, Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group (WS) successfully signed a contract for the construction of two Energy Construction Vessels (ECV). The order also includes two option vessels.
The ECV is a high-end offshore engineering equipment that integrates efficient operations, green power, and intelligent safety. With an overall length of 111.2 meters, a beam of 23 meters, and a depth of 9.6 meters, it is equipped with a 1,400-square-meter deck, a 150-ton active heave compensation crane, and an ROV retraction and deployment system. It can efficiently support complex operations such as offshore wind power and oil and gas field development, significantly improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.
Meanwhile, the vessel is equipped with a low-emission propulsion system, featuring two 1,000 kWh battery packs and a design that allows for future conversion to methanol fuel, meeting future green dismantling and recycling requirements and enabling future green dismantling of the vessel.
In addition, it also utilizes redundant propulsion, intelligent control, and closed-loop power technology to ensure precise positioning and operational stability in harsh sea conditions. The vessel meets the DNV Cyber Secure (Essential) notation requirements, reaching international standards in digital security.
