CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Delivers 6th 50,000 DWT MR Tanker 105 Days Ahead of Schedule

On July 18, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard delivered the 6th 50,000 DWT MR oil tanker “CAPE BILBAO” to
SCHOELLER 105 days ahead of schedule, marking the successful completion of the first shipbuilding task of the 50,000 DWT oil tanker “Hongyun” series independently developed by the company’s headquarters.

The 6,000 DWT MR oil tanker is one of the main ship types independently developed and constructed by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard. It boasts outstanding performance, excellent cargo adaptability, and flexibility, with a liquid cargo hold capacity of 53,500 cubic meters. The vessel has a total length of 182.70 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters with a service speed of 14.5 knots, and is classified by ABS.

The cargo tank project was the focus of the vessel’s mooring phase. In response to the shipowner’s high standards for cabin tightness, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard completed the tightness tests of 14 cargo tanks efficiently and with high quality within a week, and also completed the special coating of the cargo tanks, installation and commissioning of cabin accessories and equipment in a swift manner. The vessel went out to sea for sea trials with high integrity, and the construction quality won high recognition from the shipowner.
