On November 4, Xiamen Xiangyu Co., Ltd. released an investor relations activity record indicating that, as of the end of the third quarter of 2026, its shipbuilding subsidiary—Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nantong Xiangyu SOE)—had secured orders for 48 new vessels, with a total order backlog of 138 vessels—an increase of 45 vessels compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to disclosures by Xiamen Xiangyu, by the end of the third quarter of 2026, Nantong Xiangyu SOE had significantly enhanced its brand value and market influence within the global mid-sized bulk carrier and specialized chemical tanker sectors. Following the completion of the renovation and upgrade of the Qidong shipyard, the vessel delivery cycle has been further shortened; a total of 24 vessels were delivered, an increase of 4 units compared to the same period in the previous year.
In 2026, Nantong Xiangyu SOE secured its first order for container ships and won an order from COSCO Shipping for five 210,000 DWT Newcastle bulk carriers, achieving a key breakthrough in the field of ultra-large ocean-going vessels. At the same time, Nantong Xiangyu SOE continued to iterate on its green, low-carbon ship designs, widely adopting clean energy and energy-saving technologies such as LNG dual-fuel systems, methanol-ready configurations, all-electric propulsion, and rotor sails, and was recognized as a national-level green factory.

According to information on its official website, Nantong Xiangyu SOE was established in December 2016 and owns two shipyards: Nantong Xiangyu Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. and Qidong Xiangyu Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd.
At present, Nantong Xiangyu SOE has formed a “two factories and four bases” production pattern. Its annual production capacity exceeds 3 million deadweight tons, and its products cover a variety of ocean-going ship types such as bulk carriers, dual-fuel stainless steel chemical tankers, offshore wind power installation ships, and semi-submersible ships.
