Recently, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC)’s self-use 1,000-ton gantry crane successfully completed type testing under the supervision of experts from the Shanghai Special Equipment Inspection Institute.
This test was a key step before the crane went into service. The expert team from the Shanghai Special Equipment Inspection Institute conducted rigorous tests on the crane’s performance in accordance with relevant standards and specifications, covering key operations such as lifting, walking, and rotating. During the test, the crane operated stably, and all indicators met the requirements, passing the test successfully.
The 1,000-ton gantry crane is a self-developed equipment of ZPMC, which consists of five parts: boom structure, A-frame, slewing mechanism, gantry and traveling mechanism. The gantry crane innovatively adopts the “double main hook + single auxiliary hook” design, and has the ability to work in multiple working conditions; the operating range covers the main hook lifting height of -5 meters to 115 meters, and it supports traveling, slewing, and boom extension operations while fully loaded.
As ZPMC’s largest manufacturing base, Zhenhua Changxing Branch has decided to upgrade two 500-ton gantry cranes on the No. 1 gantry crane line in the 100,000-square-meter area to two 1,000-ton gantry cranes in order to further increase production capacity. After the upgrade, the total assembly capacity of the gantry crane production line is expected to increase to eight units per month, significantly boosting overall assembly capacity and enabling the release of crane ship resources according to production demand.
