CIMC SOE Achieves Keel-Laying Milestone for Petredec’s Next-Gen 24,000 cbm LEG Carrier

On May 26, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) marked a construction milestone as it laid the keel for Petredec’s first 24,000 cbm LEG carrier (hull number: S1107).

It is understood that the vessel, which started construction in November last year, is fully independently designed by CIMC SOE. It adopts the latest design concepts and technologies and belongs to the new generation of LEG carriers. By optimizing the hull line and reasonable layout, the vessel not only achieves a larger cargo loading capacity, but also can provide a design speed of up to 16 knots.

In addition, the vessel is equipped with the latest WinGD 5X52-S2.0-iSCR main engine, including environmental protection devices such as scrubbers and shaft generators, which not only greatly reduces pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions during operation, but also effectively reduces fuel consumption, becoming a new benchmark for energy-saving and environmentally friendly LEG carrier.

Next, CIMC SOE will follow the construction plan and complete the projects on schedule according to the customer’s needs under the premise of ensuring safety and quality, so as to provide another high-quality vessel with excellent performance for the global gas tanker transportation field.
