DDW Offshore’s $25M AHTS Vessel Sale Collapses After Charterer Rejects Novation

DDW Offshore, a subsidiary of Norway’s Akastor, has revealed that the planned sale of the Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel Skandi Peregrino has collapsed.

In early March this year, DDW Offshore agreed to sell the 2010-built “Skandi Peregrino” to an unnamed customer for US$25 million, and planned to use the approximately US$1 million proceeds from the transaction to repay part of DDW Offshore’s debt on a pro rata basis, reducing its debt to approximately US$19 million.

DDW Offshore said at the time that the completion of the sale was conditional on obtaining the consent of the charterer. The latest news is that the charterer chose not to novate the transaction, which led to the failure of the sale.

Prior to the sale negotiations, DDW Offshore announced a one-year charter for the Skandi Peregrino, which commenced operations in Australia in January, with a 24-month pricing option.
