On May 14, the main engine of a 30,000m³ class trailing suction hopper dredger built by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) for CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd. was successfully hoisted at ZPMC Offshore Engineering, marking the smooth commencement of the installation of the power core system.
It is reported that this trailing suction hopper dredger integrates advanced technologies such as ultra-deep excavation, ultra-strong soil breaking, and ultra-long discharge distance. It is capable of not only port and waterway dredging and maintenance projects but also sand extraction, filling, deep-sea trenching, and backfilling operations, meeting functional requirements for long blowing distance, extended discharge range, and deep excavation.
This vessel fills the gap in China’s dredging fleet for trailing suction hopper dredgers with a capacity exceeding 30,000 m³, greatly enhancing China’s core competitiveness in the international high-end dredging market, and is a well-deserved “national heavy equipment”.
