Wanlong Shipbuilding Wins Contract For 2+2 82,000 DWT Bulk Carriers

On January 24th, Yangzhou Wanlong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. signed a construction project of 2+2 82,000 DWT bulk carriers with Zhoulian Shipping (Ningbo) Co.

As a handy type, this bulk carrier can achieve higher efficiency with lower power consumption, promote energy saving and emission reduction, and help realize the goal of “double carbon” through the upgrading of main engine technology and the optimization of hull line shape.

Meanwhile, this ship type has the advantage of shallow draught, excellent route adaptability and excellent cargo loading capacity, which is the first choice for both foreign trade routes and long coastal routes.

Reportedly, Zhoulian Shipping (Ningbo) specializes in ocean, coastal and cross-strait bulk transportation, and the company has many bulk carriers of its own. This is the first cooperation between the two parts, which will help Zhoulian Shipping (Ningbo) to take a solid step towards the development goal of “large-sized ship, ocean-going navigation area and green capacity”.

During the same day, Wanlong Shipbuilding and Hengli Engine (Dalian) Co., Ltd., signed the main engine contract for Zhoulian Shipping (Ningbo)’s newly-built 115,000DWT Aframax tanker.

Hengli Engine (Dalian) Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in marine engine manufacturing under Hengli Heavy Industry Group. The yard, formerly known as STX Dalian, has relaunched its operations under Hengli’s wing after going bankrupt in 2014 due to its inability to pay off debts.
