Jiangnan Shipbuilding Delivers 15,000 TEU Dual Fuel container ship to CMA CGM

On January 9, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC, delivered the first 15,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship (H2771) for CMA CGM Group. On December 21, 2023, the vessel was named “CMA CGM CEDRUS”.

There are 6 containers in this series, which are scheduled to be delivered from January 2024 to September 2024. The container has an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters and a service speed of 22 knots. It adopts GTT Mark III LNG enclosure system, featuring large container capacity, advanced technology, energy saving and environmental protection.

In addition, the batch of vessels adopts a global new generation of dual-fuel main engine with Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling(iCER) system, which can automatically track and dynamically adjust the air-to-gas ratio through specific algorithms, reducing methane escape in gas mode by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%.

It is understood that the “CMA CGM CEDRUS” is the 12th ship Jiangnan Shipbuilding has built for CMA CGM Group. The successful delivery of this container further consolidates Jiangnan Shipbuilding’s leading position in the design and construction of dual-fuel large containers.
