Recently, the Spanish shipyard Gondan delivered a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) named “Austri Enabler” to Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind.
The Austri Enabler was designed by Norwegian Salt Ship Design. With a length of 88 meters and a beam of 19.7 meters, the vessel is equipped with the most advanced technology in terms of operational efficiency and sustainability.
The vessel can accommodate up to 120 people, including 97 technicians and 23 crew members, and is equipped with the latest automation and technical support solutions, including a 3D compensated offshore crane, an active gangway with a 30-meter reach, an integrated elevator with room for 26 people and a helicopter landing pad with a diameter of 21 meters.
The propulsion system onboard uses a permanent magnet motor-driven cycloidal propeller and combines liquid hydrogen carrier (LOHC) ready technology, making it a platform capable of completely zero-emission operation.

According to Edda Wind, the Austri Enabler has been awarded a 12-month contract (with an extension option) and will begin operations in the UK in the third quarter of 2025. Further details have not been disclosed.
The Austri Enabler is the fourth and final vessel built by the Gondan shipyard. The previously delivered sister vessels include the Nordri Enabler, Sudri Enabler, and Vestri Enabler. This is also the eighth vessel delivered by the Gondan shipyard to Edda Wind.
