New Times Shipbuilding Receives Order for 2 LR2 Product Tankers

Greek shipping company Minerva Marine has ordered two 114,000 dwt LR2 product tankers from a Chinese shipyard.

Minerva Marine has signed a contract with New Times Shipbuilding for the construction of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel 114,000 dwt LR2 product tankers, according to Clarkson in its latest weekly report.

The new vessels are expected to be delivered in the first and second quarters of 2027 and the value of the order has not been disclosed. The two parties entered into a letter of intent in December 2023 for the construction of the vessels.

Founded in 1996, Greek diversified shipowner Minerva Marine is known to have a fleet of 71 vessels in the tanker, dry bulk, and container fleet.In 2020, Minerva Marine announced the formation of Minerva Dry for the management of its dry bulk fleet.
