Recently, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of CSSC Group, signed a contract with the Cyprus-based Schoeller Group to build four 50,000-dwt MR oil/chemical tankers.

As one of the vessel types independently developed and primarily built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, the 50,000-dwt MR oil/chemical tanker boasts outstanding performance, superior cargo versatility, and operational flexibility, with a liquid cargo capacity of 53,500 cubic meters. The vessel has an overall length of 182.70 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters, a depth of 19.10 meters, a design draft of 11.00 meters, and a service speed of 14.5 knots.

This signing marks a renewed collaboration between CSSC Chengxi Shipyard and the Schoeller Group. The two parties had previously signed a contract in 2023 for the construction of four MR oil/chemical tankers of the same type, all of which were successfully delivered by June 30, 2026.
