On September 16, Zhoushan Changhong International held a naming ceremony for the sixth vessel in a series of 10,300-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships built for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). The vessel was named “MSC CLELIA X.”

The handover documents for the “MSC CLELIA X” were signed on September 17, marking a delivery 348 days ahead of schedule. Following the earlier delivery of the vessel—which was 324 days ahead of schedule—this achievement once again sets a new record for delivery efficiency for Zhoushan Changhong International’s large LNG dual-fuel container ships.
The “MSC CLELIA X” is a 10,300-TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel container ship with hull number CHB2042. It is the sixth vessel in this series and was jointly designed by Changhong International and CIMC ORIC. The vessel has a total length of 299.95 meters, a beam of 45.6 meters, a draft of 25.0 meters, a structural draft of 17.4 meters, and a design speed of 20 knots. It is classified by Lloyd’s Register (LR).
It is reported that Zhoushan Changhong International and MSC signed a contract in 2023 for the construction of 10 LNG container ships with a capacity of 10,300 TEUs, with a total contract value of approximately $1.3 billion. The first vessel in the series, the “MSC MARIA RENATA,” was delivered on May 25, 2026, and four more vessels in the series are scheduled for delivery.
