Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding Delivers First 40,000 m3 Dual-Fuel LPG-Liquid Ammonia Carrier

On December 5, the first 40,000m3 dual-fuel LPG/liquid ammonia carrier “GASCHEM EUROPE” (Liberia-flagged), built by Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding for Germany’s HARTMANN, was successfully signed and delivered.

On December 6th, Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding held a naming ceremony for the new vessel, which was named “GASCHEM EUROPE” by the godmother Mrs. Fatou DOSSO.

“GASCHEM EUROPE is classed by DNV. The ship started the construction on September 9, 2022, went to the shipyard on April 20, 2023, launched on August 22, and successfully completed the sea trial on November 18, with the construction period of about 15 months, which is 4 months ahead of the contractual delivery date.

The vessel is equipped with the world’s first low-temperature carbon-manganese steel three-ear C-tank, which increases the space utilization rate of the liquid cargo hold by about 10%. Besides, the vessel adopts advanced LPG dual-fuel main engine and high-efficiency propellers, as well as the combination design of full-suspension double-twisted rudders, which meets the Tier Ⅲ emission, and it is a green vessel with unique design combining the world’s latest high-efficiency and energy-saving technology.

“GASCHEM EUROPE” is scheduled to start its maiden voyage on December 8th.
