Recently, the first 6,000 DWT dual-fuel chemical tanker built by China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Yangzhou Dingheng Shipyard was officially named “Orca Fisher” at the HMS Belfast berth on the banks of the River Thames in London, UK.
The naming ceremony was hosted by the shipowner, James Fisher Everard Limited. As the first of four sister ships built through the partnership between the two parties, the vessel was constructed by Yangzhou Dingheng and officially delivered to the owner in March 2026.
The vessel utilizes the industry-proven FKAB T68 design, achieving a seamless integration of eco-efficiency and reliable performance. It is powered by an LNG/LBG-diesel dual-fuel system capable of flexible fuel switching, precisely meeting the demands of the global shipping industry’s low-carbon transition.
The cargo tank interiors are fully coated with specialized MarineLine anti-corrosion coating, significantly extending service life and enhancing cargo versatility, enabling the safe transport of a wide range of refined petroleum products and liquid chemicals.
The entire fleet is equipped with the Power Take-Home (PTH) function and variable frequency drive (VFD) shaft generators, supplemented by energy-efficiency optimization devices such as exhaust gas boilers and thermal oil boilers. This forms a full-chain energy-saving design—from power supply to waste heat recovery—effectively reducing operational energy consumption and carbon emissions. The vessels meet global standards for unlimited navigation zones and combine environmental benefits, cargo flexibility, and operational reliability, making them a new generation of green vessel products designed for the global high-end liquid cargo transport market.
