Recently, Bahri Logistics—a subsidiary of the leading Saudi shipping and logistics company Bahri—signed a contract with the UAE-based Grandweld Shipyard to build two offshore support vessels (OSVs). The construction period is approximately 12 months, with delivery expected in August 2027.
Two new vessels will be custom-built to meet the offshore operational requirements of Ras Tanura Port—one of the world’s busiest energy hubs. Upon delivery, they will enhance Bahri’s offshore operational capabilities and support Saudi Arabia’s expanding energy logistics corridor.
Designed for high-performance operations in harsh offshore environments, this type of OSV will be equipped with state-of-the-art navigation, communication, and safety systems to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. The new vessel is capable of undertaking a wide range of offshore missions—including emergency response, maintenance assistance, and technical support for ships and offshore facilities—while meeting the highest international maritime and environmental standards.
Data indicates that Grandweld Shipyard is a UAE-based shipyard renowned in the Middle East for constructing small- to medium-sized offshore vessels and utility boats. It primarily undertakes newbuild projects such as crew transfer vessels, harbor and offshore support vessels (OSVs), tugboats, and patrol boats, but has not yet built large ocean-going commercial vessels.
