New Times Shipbuilding Delivers First LNG Dual-Fuel VLCC to Bruton

Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding and Bruton LTD successfully signed off the Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance for the first VLCC on July 7.

The vessel is fully EEDI Phase III compliant, powered by an LNG dual-fuel main engine, and features a latest-generation high-efficiency hull form optimized for superior hydrodynamic and fuel performance.

The dual-fuel feature is utilized not only for main propulsion but also for the electrical power plant and steam generation, enhancing the overall vessel management through cleaner-burning machinery and advanced Boil-Off Gas (BOG) management, while significantly improving the vessel’s environmental footprint by lowering its Carbon Factor and optimizing its Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) rating.

The vessel is also equipped with an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System, granting complete fuel redundancy globally while mitigating the risks associated with fuel market price volatility.

The ship, heading now towards her first cargo loading terminal, is the first in a series of four tankers designed and constructed under SeaQuest’s renowned technical advisory and supervision service.
