Guangzhou Shipyard International Delivers Second 74,500 DWT LRI Tanker to Ocean Yield

On June 18, the second 74,500 DWT chemical/product oil tanker”BLOOMING FUTURE”, built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Guangzhou Shipyard International for Norway’s Ocean Yield (OCY), was signed and delivered 196 days ahead of schedule.

The series of vessels, totaling four, represents Guangzhou Shipyard International’s first order breakthrough in the Latin American market. These vessels are also a new generation of single-fuel LRI tankers developed by Guangzhou Shipyard International based on the shipowner’s needs and will be chartered by Braskem.

This type of vessel is 228 meters long, 36 meters wide, with a structural draft of 13.5 meters and a service speed of 14.0 knots. It meets IMO TIER II emission standards and EEDI energy efficiency index Phase 3. It features low energy consumption, high speed, light empty weight, and strong adaptability.

Its energy consumption indicators, environmental performance, and reliability are among the best in the industry. Its vibration standard is COMF-VIB CREW Class C, and its noise standard is COMF-NOISE CREW Class A, which is the highest level among the liquid cargo ships built by Guangzhou Shipyard International, effectively ensuring the high comfort and safety of the vessel.

Guangzhou Shipyard International stated that this series of vessels is the first to apply the MBD (Maintenance, Design, and Construction) paperless production model. Through scientific management and technological innovation, the integration of design and construction has been promoted, and the construction process has been continuously optimized. As a result, the vessel was launched ahead of schedule, completed sea trials within 5 days, and was delivered significantly ahead of the contract.
