CSSC Chengxi Signs 120 Main Engine Procurement Deal with CSSC Power (Group)

On June 1, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and CSSC Power (Group) Corporation Ltd. (CPGC) held a signing ceremony for the procurement of 120 main engines, marking a new phase in their strategic partnership.

Since their first collaboration in 1992, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard and CPGC have cumulatively signed contracts for the delivery of 401 low-speed engines, 646 main diesel generators, 198 emergency generators, and 33 desulfurization towers. These supplies cover a wide range of vessel types built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, including multi-purpose vessels, asphalt carriers, woodchip carrier, container ships, and MR oil and chemical tankers, ranging from conventional bulk carriers to dual-fuel bulk carriers, driving continuous upgrades in ship design.

Currently, the global shipbuilding market is entering a new upswing. CSSC Chengxi Shipyard is taking proactive measures and making forward-looking strategic moves to ensure its future shipbuilding, production, and delivery capabilities.

Moving forward, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard will use this signing as an opportunity to further deepen its multi-faceted cooperation with CPGC in areas such as technological R&D, market expansion, and industrial chain synergy. This collaboration will support the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding industry, and together, the two parties will make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of CSSC and advancing China’s goal of becoming a maritime power.
