On April 17, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), successfully delivered the “CS SAKER,” the first 50,000 DWT MR oil and chemical tanker built for Singapore-based Singfar. This marks the 14th newbuild delivered by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard this year.

The “CS SAKER” has an overall length of 182.70 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters, a depth of 19.10 meters, a design draft of 11.00 meters, and a service speed of 14.5 knots. It is classed by Lloyd’s Register. This vessel is a flagship product of the “Hongyun” series, independently developed by CSSC Chengxi. It features excellent cargo adaptability and operational flexibility, offers a large cargo capacity and high loading/unloading efficiency, and achieves energy consumption indicators at internationally advanced levels.
During the vessel’s construction, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard worked closely with the shipowner and classification society to continuously refine key construction techniques. During sea trials, the vessel achieved compliance with the EEDI on the first attempt and fully met contractual requirements, while reducing the sea trial period to six days. Ultimately, the vessel was delivered 166 days ahead of the contractual delivery date—an impressive achievement.
