Following its recent rebranding, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard has announced another success. On April 17, the shipbuilder successfully completed all repair work on the “Dongxing Haitai” and the “Jinhai Long No. 5” on the same day, delivering both vessels ahead of schedule.
The repair work on the Dongxing Haitai included major tasks such as repairing the cargo hold bulkhead structures, coating the outer hull, and overhauling the main engine. Faced with a tight schedule, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard implemented a plan to dry-dock four vessels simultaneously, resulting in the vessel being delivered three days ahead of schedule and ready to set sail immediately upon leaving the dry dock.

Despite a tight schedule, the “Jin Hailong No. 5” was dry-docked immediately upon arrival at the yard, with the main focus of the project being the coating of the hull’s outer plating and deck. Through efficient coordination and collaborative efforts across all disciplines, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard ensured seamless transitions between work phases, ultimately enabling the vessel to be launched and delivered one day ahead of schedule.

To date, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard has completed and delivered a total of 35 vessels through its ship repair business.
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard announced that it had officially changed its name from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Changxingdao Shipyard Co., Ltd. to DSIC ChangXing Shipyard Co., Ltd. This rebranding marks a new chapter for this core enterprise—wholly owned by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation—as its new journey for its development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Located in the Changxingdao Economic Zone of Dalian, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard is strategically positioned at the heart of the Bohai Rim Shipbuilding & Repairing Base, supported by a complete supporting industrial chain in its vicinity. DSIC ChangXing Shipyard occupies an area of approximately one million square meters and boasts superior hardware facilities including a 300,000-dwt dry dock of 420 meters in length and 68 meters in width, capable of accommodating ultra-large container vessels up to 24,000 TEU; and a 200,000-dwt dry dock with length of 330 meters and width of 58 meters.
Through collaboration with DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., LTD in ship repair, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard can integrate resources of 5 ship repair docks in the Bohai Bay region to serve the clients. The quay has a total length of over 3,600 meters with a water depth of approximately 10.8 meters, making DSIC ChangXing Shipyard one of the few shipyards in China capable of offering direct berthing alongside the quay. Meanwhile, DSIC ChangXing Shipyard is equipped with hull fabrication, pipe, mechanical, electrical and painting workshops, totaling 29,000 m², and features technical service stations for main engines, automation systems and fire-fighting & life-saving appliances, along with key facilities such as a 480-ton gantry crane, forming a comprehensive production, processing and service system.
