On March 23, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(XSI) officially broke ground on the third 113,600 DWT LNG dual-fuel tanker it is building for Union Maritime Limited (UML) at its manufacturing department workshop.
The 113,600 DWT LNG dual-fuel tanker, designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), features a double-bottom, double-hull, and superstructure design. It is equipped with a single-engine, single-propeller configuration and an LNG dual-fuel propulsion system, with an overall length of approximately 249.9 meters, a beam of 44 meters, and a deadweight of approximately 113,600 tons.
In terms of environmental performance, the vessel strictly meets the NOx Tier 3 emission standard and relies on LNG dual-fuel power technology to significantly reduce carbon emissions and pollutant emissions, precisely matching the global shipping industry’s green and low-carbon transformation trend. The vessel is mainly suitable for ocean-going refined oil transportation operations and has the dual advantages of energy saving, environmental protection and strong adaptability, making it a popular main vessel type in the current international shipping market.
