Nanjing Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. (NASCO) announced that on March 12, it formally signed a contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. for the construction of two 63,500 DWT bulk carriers. The new vessels will be classed by Lloyd’s Register.

NASCO stated that, as a professional international shipping company specializing in general cargo and breakbulk, NASCO has always been committed to optimizing its fleet structure, deepening its presence on regional routes, and enhancing service efficiency. Previously, the company placed an order with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard for the construction of four new vessels, three of which have already been successfully delivered.
The newly contracted vessels meet IMO Phase III requirements and comply with the latest international conventions, rules, and standards, offering safety, efficiency, low fuel consumption, and environmental friendliness. These new vessels will further expand the scale of NASCO’s fleet, enhance its core competitiveness, and lay a solid foundation for high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
According to public information, NASCO currently owns 23 vessels and operates a total of more than 80 large ocean-going vessels (including both owned and managed vessels), with a total carrying capacity exceeding 1 million deadweight tons.
