China Merchants Shipbuilding Haimen Base Achieves Three Major Milestones in Three Days

Recently, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base achieved three major shipbuilding milestones in three days: the successful delivery of the 9,000 CEU PCTC, the successful completion of the trial sea trial of the first 2,450 CEU PCTC, and the successful launch of the 9,000 CEU PCTC.

On February 12, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base held the delivery signing ceremony for the “Grande Michigan,” the sixth 9,000 CEU PCTC it built. This is the third vessel delivered in the series, after the successful delivery of the first and second vessels.

On February 13, the 2450 CEU PCTC built by China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base completed all sea trials and certification tasks and berthed smoothly. As the first brand-new PCTC built at Haimen base, the project took only 42 days from launch to sea trial readiness, setting a new benchmark for PCTC construction efficiency. The vessel completed its inclining test 28 days after launch, with system debugging and interior finishing progressing simultaneously, significantly reducing the dockside cycle.

On February 14, the 9,000 CEU PCTC, built at China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Haimen Base, was successfully launched and docked at Pier 4. The project team fully absorbed valuable experience from previous vessels, continuously improving work efficiency to ensure the successful completion of the launch.
