Sinotrans Container Lines Awards Four 3,000 TEU Vessel Contract to China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing)

Recently, Sinotrans Container Lines announced the results of its tender for the construction of four 3,000 TEU container ships: China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) was awarded the contract.

According to records, Sinotrans Container Lines was established on April 24, 1998, as a state-owned shipping enterprise wholly owned by China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES), with a registered capital of RMB 640 million. The company primarily engages in international container liner shipping and multimodal transport agency services, with routes covering over 20 countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Its Japan and Taiwan routes hold leading market positions.

China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing), established in 1952, covers a total area of ​​1.2 million square meters, including 300,000 square meters at the main factory (Nanjing plant) and 900,000 square meters at Jiangsu Jinling (Yizheng plant). The shipyard possesses one 100,000-ton and one 200,000-ton dry dock, eight 50,000-ton slipways, and three outfitting quays capable of simultaneously accommodating multiple 10,000-ton vessels. It also has nine large lifting machines with capacities of 500 tons, 300 tons, and 150 tons, enabling it to build various types of ships under 200,000 DWT.
