GTT announces that it has received, in the fourth quarter of 2025, an order from the shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of two new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) on behalf of the ship-owner Purus.

GTT will be responsible for the design of the cryogenic tanks for the two vessels, each offering a total capacity of 174,000 m³. The tanks will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.
Delivery of the vessels is expected between 2028 and 2029.
Previously reported, Samsung Heavy Industries announced on December 23, 2025, that it had secured an order for two LNG carriers from Purus, each valued at approximately $250 million. This marks the final LNG carrier order disclosed in the newbuild market for 2025.
According to information on its official website, Purus owns and operates 19 gas carriers for transporting LNG, ammonia, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane.
This marks GTT’s second LNG carrier cargo tank design contract announced in 2026. The company previously announced on January 6th that it had signed a deal with Hanwha Ocean for the cargo tank design of seven LNG carriers, with the order also booked in the fourth quarter of 2025.
