On January 6, French company GTT announced that it has received, in the fourth quarter of 2025, an order from the shipyard Hanwha Ocean for the tank design of seven new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs) on behalf of a European ship-owner.

GTT will design the cryogenic tanks of the vessels, which will each offer a total capacity of 174,000 m³. The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 Super+ membrane containment system developed by GTT.
The order is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2025.
On December 19, 2025, Hanwha Ocean announced it had secured an order for seven 174,000m³ LNG carriers. Market sources later indicated the order originated from Norwegian shipowner Knutsen OAS Shipping, with each vessel valued at approximately $250 million.
Hanwha Ocean has secured orders for a total of 11 LNG carriers by 2025. When announcing the 7 LNG carriers from Knutsen OAS Shipping, Hanwha Ocean stated that these newbuilds will be constructed to a standardized specification, enabling maximum efficiency across the entire procurement, production and design process. This is expected to deliver stable revenue guarantees.
