TechnipFMC Secures Second Major FLNG Project in Mozambique’s Deepwater Block 4

TechnipFMC, a leading offshore engineering contractor, announced that it has been awarded the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract for Eni’s Coral North FLNG project in Mozambique. This marks TechnipFMC’s second deepwater natural gas development project in the region.

Under the contract, TechnipFMC will be responsible for manufacturing and installing flexible pipelines and risers, as well as installing subsea manifolds and umbilicals. The contract is valued between $250 million and $500 million.

The Coral North FLNG project, located in waters approximately 2,000 meters deep, will become the second deepwater natural gas development project in Mozambique’s Block 4 offshore, following the Coral South project which commenced operations in 2022. According to Eni, these two projects will complement each other in jointly developing Mozambique’s offshore natural gas resources.

Jonathan Landes, President of TechnipFMC Subsea, stated: “We will leverage the experience gained from successfully delivering the world’s first ultra-deepwater FLNG project, Coral South, to optimize proven solutions and ensure project execution.”
