Namura Shipbuilding Receives Order for 2 Handysize Bulk Carriers

Recently, Taiwan Navigation ordered two 40,000 dwt handysize bulk carriers from Japan’s Namura Shipbuilding, with the cost of a single vessel not exceeding $32.3 million and the total value not exceeding $64.6 million (RMB 471 million).

Previously, Taiwan Navigation has ordered a number of bulk carriers from Namura Shipbuilding. In 2022, Taiwan Navigation’s subsidiary Tai Shing Maritime ordered two 40,000 dwt handysize bulk carriers from Namura Shipbuilding at a cost of US$32.3 million per vessel.

In November 2019, Taiwan Navigation ordered an 80,000 dwt Kassam-type bulk carrier from Namura Shipbuilding; in March of the same year, Taiwan Navigation ordered two 80,000 dwt bulk carriers from Namura Shipbuilding at a cost of US$33.9 million each.
