Hengli Heavy Industries announced that it has recently achieved another milestone in the international shipbuilding sector by successfully signing a contract with a renowned international shipowner for the construction of six 114,000 DWT LR2 product tankers.

Hengli Heavy Industries stated that the international client for this collaboration is a shipowner with significant influence in the global shipping industry, imposing extremely stringent requirements on vessel quality, performance and environmental standards. The successful securing of this order by Hengli Heavy Industries fully demonstrates its leading position in the construction of high-end oil tankers.
According to an announcement released on the 18th by *ST Songfa, the listed entity of Hengli Heavy Industries, the six oil tankers are valued at a combined total of approximately $400 million to $600 million and will be delivered starting in 2027.
The 114,000 DWT crude oil/product tanker signed in this agreement represents an internationally mainstream medium-sized crude oil/product tanker design, featuring large loading capacity, ample cargo hold space, and green energy efficiency as its core characteristics.
This vessel type is designed to balance route adaptability with cargo loading flexibility. It can be efficiently adapted to the loading and unloading equipment of most crude oil and refined oil ports around the world.
It meets the demands of regional trunk line transportation, refinery feedstock supply, and transoceanic medium-to-long-distance shipping. Aligning with the latest international tanker design concepts, it represents a premium vessel type that fulfills the shipping market’s current requirements for efficient and low-carbon transportation.
