CITIC Financial Leasing, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian) Mark Completion of 50-Vessel Pulp Ship Series

On November 14, CITIC Financial Leasing’s 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp carrier GREEN GUANGZHOU was officially named at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian). As the final vessel in CITIC Financial Leasing’s series of eight multi-purpose pulp carriers, its successful naming also marks the completion of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian)’s order to build 50 multi-purpose pulp carriers, which began in 2017.

As the core force of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited’s national-level pulp and specialty cargo transportation fleet, the successful completion of this series of vessels marks a historic leap for Dalian’s shipbuilding industry in the mass production of high-end specialty vessels. This achievement provides robust support for the upgrade of high-end equipment along Liaoning’s coastal economic belt.

As a high-end specialized vessel, pulp carriers demand extremely high technical requirements in terms of airtightness, environmental friendliness, and multi-cargo compatibility. For a long time, the market was monopolized by foreign enterprises. Seizing the opportunity of batch-building 50 such vessels, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian) has shattered this monopoly in one fell swoop, achieving a complete leap from the “domestic breakthrough” of the lead vessel to the “iteration and upgrading” of subsequent models, thus completely reshaping the market pattern of specialized transport vessels.

As the final vessel of the series, the “GREEN GUANGZHOU” fully demonstrates COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian)’s core strengths. Measuring 225 meters in length and 21 meters in width, the vessel not only safeguards the quality of pulp transportation with its superior cargo hold sealing and drying technology, but also boasts a powerful cross-category transport capability, safely loading over ten types of goods, including pulp, high-speed rail components, and wind power equipment.

In response to the overseas expansion needs of the new energy industry, this vessel has been specially upgraded with a “foldable commercial vehicle-specific frame” and equipped with a temperature monitoring and early warning system tailored for new energy vehicles, thus creating a safe and efficient sea route for the large-scale export of domestically produced new energy vehicles and large-scale high-end equipment.
