CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding Delivers 16,000 TEU LNG Dual-Fuel Vessel “MSC Salerno” 93 Days Early

On October 30th, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding – a subsidiary of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) – successfully delivered the 16,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container vessel “MSC Salerno” to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), 93 days ahead of the contractual delivery schedule.

The “MSC Salerno” is a new-generation Panamax container ship, boasting an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters, and a depth of 30.2 meters. It has a carrying capacity of over 16,196 standard containers and can accommodate 1,800 refrigerated containers.

The vessel features class notations such as one-person steering, Gas Fuelled LNG and enhanced fire fighting; it is equipped with energy-saving equipments such as high-efficiency propeller and rudder and pre-propeller energy-saving devices, and adopts energy-saving technologies such as air lubrication system and a 4 MW shaft generator, which can maximize the green energy-saving and environmental protection of the vessel and the safety and economy of its operation; and it is equipped with a WinGD dual-fuel main engine, an ICER, and its water treatment system, which fully meets the latest emission standards.
