Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Heavy Industry Starts Building Type A Tanks for 41,000m³ LPG/Ammonia Carrier

On September 15, Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Heavy Industry kicked off construction of the Type A cargo hold for the 41,000m³ LPG/ammonia carrier at its Zhongshan base.

The 41,000 m³ LPG Carrier Type A Tank Project for Southwest Maritime, which commenced construction this time, involves 4 ship sets with a total of 12 IMO Independent Type A Cargo Tanks. The net cargo capacity of a single vessel’s No. 1 hold is approximately 11,560 m³ (36.8 m × 27.1 m × 15.39 m), No. 2 hold is approximately 15,110 m³, and No. 3 hold is approximately 14,330 m³ (all dimensions: 39.2 m × 27.1 m × 15.39 m).

The first ship set Type A cargo hold is scheduled for delivery by June 11, 2026, with the remaining Type A cargo holds to be delivered in batches by January 4, 2027.
