Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding Delivers First 63,500 DWT Bulk Carrier “Josco Yizhou”

On September 16, Jiangsu SOHO Innovation Technology Group held a naming ceremony for its first 63,500 DWT bulk carrier at Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding. The new vessel was officially named the “Josco Yizhou,” marking the first self-operated vessel constructed by Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding.

Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), this 63500 DWT Bulk Carrier features a single-engine, single-propeller propulsion system. The vessel is 199.9 meters long, 32.26 meters wide, and has a maximum range of 20,000 nautical miles. With outstanding performance in green operation, environmental protection and energy conservation, it is one of the mainstream and popular ship types in the current international ship market.

This vessel marks the first self-exported vessel delivered by Jiangsu SOHO Innovation Technology Group following its restructuring. Since the project’s inception, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding has achieved remarkable results through scientific planning and precise management, ensuring construction quality while delivering the vessel 44 days ahead of schedule.

It is understood that Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding is a company under Soho Holding Group, a large state-owned wholly-owned enterprise group in Jiangsu Province. It was formed through the merger and reorganization of three companies, namely Sainty Machinery, Sainty Minmetals, and Sainty Assets, and was inaugurated on April 30, 2024. Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. (Sainty Shipbuilding), which is under Sainty Assets, has thus been integrated into Soho Chuangke Group.

On November 8, 2024, Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) was officially renamed Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding and completed the change of industrial and commercial information. Sainty Shipbuilding (Yangzhou) has thus become a thing of the past.
