On June 23, Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), successfully delivered an 18,500 DWT oil tanker (DN517-1) built for Seacon Shipping Group.
The vessel is 149.8 meters long, 22.8 meters wide and 12.7 meters deep. The main cargoes it can transport are crude oil, petroleum products with a density of less than 1.54 tons per cubic meter, chemicals (Class II and Class III), liquid chemicals, and IMO Class II and III petroleum products listed in MARPOL Annex I and IBC regulations. The main engine and generator set of the vessel are equipped with a nitrogen oxide SCR (selective catalytic reduction) device, which meets the requirements of IMO Class III and ICE CLASS 1C.
At the same time, this vessel adopts a multi-load line design to meet the requirements of different flag states and ports; the liquid cargo system design adopts six independent transmission systems driven by variable frequency hydraulics.
The propulsion system adopts a low-speed two-stroke diesel engine, with an adjustable pitch propeller and a pre-propeller energy-saving duct, and is equipped with a variable frequency shaft generator set. The function of operating without a generator set can be realized during navigation, which reduces the energy consumption of the vessel and improves the maneuverability.
During the construction process, Southeast Shipyard relied on the integrated shipbuilding management and control platform to actively promote pre-production preparation, comprehensive management of single vessel projects, and online internal and external inspections, promote the integration of “manufacturing + intelligent manufacturing”, and strive to shorten the construction cycle of slipways and docks, and successfully complete the vessel on time.
Going forward, Southeast Shipyard will continue to deepen its refined management practices, advance its digital transformation, and ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the 18,500 DWT oil and chemical tanker series.
