Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co.,Ltd.(CIMC SOE) has successfully signed an order for one 20,000 cbm LNG transport and bunkering vessel with a European shipowner through Rensen-Driessen. The order comes with an option for a vessel of the same type.
This is the sixth vessel of the same type won by CIMC SOE. According to the plan, this new LNG transport and bunkering vessel will be delivered and put into use in September and December 2027 (optional vessel).
This European shipowner had signed an order with CIMC SOE in April this year to build an LNG transport bunkering vessel, and this is the second order of the same type of vessel signed within two months. The continuous delivery of this type of vessel is not only a recognition of CIMC SOE’s design and construction capabilities of LNG bunkering vessels by European customers, but also demonstrates the trust of customers in CIMC SOE.
It is understood that the 20,000m³ LNG transportation and bunkering vessel has an overall length of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters and a design speed of 15.5 knots. The vessel is not only equipped with WINGD dual-fuel main engine with iCER technology, but also can be equipped with high-voltage shore power system, which can significantly reduce the pollution and greenhouse gas emissions during the vessel’s life cycle.
Unlike traditional LNG bunkering vessels, this type of vessel has higher technical requirements. This type of transportation and bunkering vessel has the functions of warehousing, transportation and ship-to-ship bunkering, and can flexibly serve in port bunkering and offshore floating storage.
In addition, in terms of the cargo containment system, the R&D team has conducted in-depth research and optimized the design of the vessel to achieve a lower evaporation rate compared with the same size of vessels in the market, which reduces the operating cost with significant economic and environmental benefits.
CIMC SOE has won high recognition from both domestic and overseas customers for its excellent design capability, efficient construction level and high quality service. The order for the sixth LNG carrier and bunkering vessel further consolidates CIMC SOE’s leading position in the international market of small and medium-sized LNG carriers and bunkering vessels.
